Format for YouTube/ iTunes U

Groups may utilize their own YouTube or Vimeo channels to upload, promote, and embed videos. If your department does not have access to a group video channel or would like your video added to NYU's official YouTube or iTunes U account please contact Christopher James in University Relations and Public Affairs.

Videos should be H.264 codec and 100 to 300meg each, no bigger than 600meg. Their minimum frame size should be 640 x 360 (16:9) with matching pixel ratio.

Format: De-interlaced MP4, MOV, or M4V (H.264/AVC/MPEG-4 part 10)

Video Resources

A number of reputable free video conversion tools like Handbrake, as well as purchasable software, exist in the marketplace today and are easily found with a quick web search. NYU does not endorse a specific tool, but have found many of these common tools to be helpful.
