First Days
We are NYU.
Set Yourself Up for Success
Your violet pride is beaming in your first days. We share in your excitment and wish to support your success as you get to know your supervisor, team, facility, and goals.
Familiarize and Get Things Done on Day 1
You'll collaborate closely with your supervisor in the coming days. They'll answer all questions related to your school or unit, including how the work in your area aligns with the goals of the University in support of our mission. Expect to meet colleagues, review your area's strategic plan, and discuss the specific procedures and expectations of your role.
Take time to familiarize yourself with University values and governance, and begin to consider your benefits needs since you'll be making your benefits elections soon.
Arrange Communications and Conferencing
Schools and units try to have your space and technology ready for you on arrival. If you're not fully set up by then, your supervisor will help you. Additionally, NYU IT offers the below tips, a knowledge base, and 24/7 IT support. NYU is largely powered by Google, so if you're already familiar with apps such as Google Mail and Google Calendar, you'll be ready to communicate with confidence in your first days.
