  • One employee can have multiple roles in PeopleSync. For example, an employee can be both an HR Partner and HR Analyst.
  • Multiple employees from the same organization can fill the same role in PeopleSync. For example, there can be multiple people in the HR Analyst role in one school or unit.

  • These roles are typically assigned to the HRO at the School or an HR Partner at the Unit Level. These are not transactional roles. They function as the defult contact(s) for system related issues and are referenced by systems administrators at NYU. Typically the same person holds both roles but you may select two different contacts. 

Note: These roles are used by our integrations with Liberty Mutual for Leave Management. If your leaves transactions are managed by PeopleLink, you should not change these roles. 

 
HR Executives
  • The HR Executive is responsible for approving role assignments (i.e. approving the transaction to give a new HR employee the "HR Analyst" role so he/she can transact in PeopleSync)

myTime Access
  • This role provides access to myTime to view, modify and approve time sheets (TS). This role is rypically granted to an HRO, HR Administrators or Payroll Administrators. It grants overall access to employee time sheets for TS exception, off cycle payment, and auditing purposes. 

Note: The role should not be confused with Time Sheet Approver (TSA) and Time Off Approver (TOA). 

 
Payroll Adjustment Partner 
  • The Payroll Adjustment Partner can initiate payroll accounting adjustments. 

Note: The user must also have an HR Partner, Finance or Costing Allocation Partner role in order to process these types of transactions.

Manager
  • Employees are designated as Managers of Supervisory Organizations (sub org) in People Sync. The Manager role in PeopleSync may not reflect an employee's actual manager who oversees their day to day activities, but rather is designated to the person who oversees the entire Supervisory Organization. The manager's name is desplayed in PeopleSync after the sub org name. Example: PeopleSync University (WS1111) (Doe, John)

Note: Managers are assigned to sup organizations by submitting a ticket to PeopleLink.

Manager View Compensation 
  • This role is granted in addition to the Manager role and gives the manager visibility into compensation. 

Note: This provides access to compensation dataq for their direct reports and any employees in subordinate organizations.
