Research Interests / Professional Overview:

Dr. Apton formerly was a Clinical Assistant Professor in Children's Dentistry at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine from 1980-1989. Dr. Apton has been an NYU faculty member in the Postgraduate Orthodontic program since 1999. Within the postgraduate Orthodontic section, he is codirector of Invisalign. Dr. Apton has certified postgraduate orthodontic residents in the New York region in Invisalign. His special interest in orthodontics aside from Invisalign is in Early Interventive Orthdontics, and has lectured on this subject in New York City and Long Island. Dr. Apton maintains a private orthodontic practice in Stony Brook, New York since 1973. He maintains appointments at University Hospital at Stony Brook, Mather Hospital and St. Charles Hospital.
