Research Interests / Professional Overview:

Dr. Whinston was among the earliest graduates of the Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at New York University College of Dentistry in 1953, and is considered a true pioneer in the field, having achieved Diplomate status in 1961. In addition to having maintained an active practice limited to periodontics for many years, in addition to his role at the College, Dr. Whinston gave CDE courses in periodontal surgery for the New York County Dental Society, and was Chief of the section of Periodontics at New York Polyclinic Hospital. At the regional level, he served as the President of the Midtown Dental Society and was the Treasurer of the Northeast Society of Periodontics.
