Tuition for the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters vary for NYU students based on their major or program, the school or college they are matriculated in, their admit term and the number of credit hours taken.

January Term tuition is charged based on the school offering the course.

For most undergraduate programs, 12 to 18 credits is full-time, and carries a flat tuition rate. Please refer to individual schools/departments for the maximum amount of credits you can take in a semester.

Graduate students should confirm with their department the number of credits needed to be considered a full- or part-time. Please refer to individual schools/departments for the maximum amount of credits you can take in a semester.

Tuition Insurance

Tuition insurance covers up to 100% of lost tuition, academic charges, and related expenses for a covered medical withdrawal. It’s a complementary program to New York University’s Refund Policy.

Important Information

Tuition and other student charges are set regardless of the method of instruction and will not be refunded in the event instruction occurs remotely for any part of the Academic Year.  The Board of Trustees of New York University reserves the right to alter the schedule of tuition and other student charges without notice.

The policies, requirements, course offerings, schedules, activities, mode of instruction, tuition, other student charges, facilities, services, operations, offerings, faculty, administrators, and calendar of the University, its schools, departments, and programs are subject to change without notice at any time at the sole discretion and judgment of NYU. Such changes may be of any nature, including, but not limited to: the elimination of the school, programs, classes, or activities; the modification or cancellation of scheduled classes or other academic activities; and the relocation of or modification of the content, modality, format or location of any of the foregoing.  Any such changes shall be made consistent with federal, state, and other applicable regulations or standards concerning accreditation and other regulated University and program requirements. NYU shall not be responsible for the refund of any tuition or other student charges in the event of any changes. NYU assumes no liability for interruption, cessation, or modification of classes or other activities due to public health, safety, or security concerns, fire, flood, weather, strike, war, pandemic, act of God, or other unforeseen events, or force majeure.

By paying tuition or enrolling in or attending classes, a student agrees to all of the terms in the above paragraph and this policy.
