This opportunity is open for all undergraduate students who spend at least one semester at NYU Washington, DC.

While participating in an internship at NYU Washington, DC, take advantage of the programs open to you! The $1,000 Wasserman Center Internship Grant was established to provide financial assistance to students pursuing non-paying internships in the arts, education, public service and other not-for-profits. Students may apply for these selective grants during the fall, spring, and summer terms.

The goal of your resume is to effectively communicate your qualifications to prospective employers. In many cases your resume will determine whether or not you are granted an interview. The resume by itself, however, will not get you a job. If it gets you in the door, then it has served its purpose.

The cover letter is probably the most underrated componentof the job search. This is true whether you are applyingfor positions via email or standard mail. If written well, it can pique the curiosity of the employer and motivate him/her to carefully read your resume. If written poorly, the resume may never get read. Be sure to include a cover letter every time you send a resume.

Send a thank you letter to everyone who interviews you. The letter is an opportunity to reiterate your interest in the position and to show your appreciation for the interviewer's time. This will also contribute to your leaving a positive impression with the employer.

*PLEASE NOTE: Final approval of this Robert O. Owen & Eve Klein Intersnhip for Invertigative Reporting award is contingent upon your ability to be engaged in the internship in accordance with applicable law. However, NYU's award under this program should not be considered legal or tax advice to you or an opinion on behalf of NYU.
