NYU is among the top 10 nation-wide in the selection of both Fulbright scholars and students this year, the U.S. State Department program has announced.

New York University is among the top 10 nation-wide in the selection of both Fulbright scholars and students this year, the U.S. State Department program has announced.

In the 2018-19 academic year, seven scholars and 22 students were chosen, making NYU one of only 11 institutions in the U.S. to place in the top 10 in both categories among American research institutions.

The student Fulbright selections included 14 undergraduates and eight graduate students who were enrolled in the following NYU schools and programs: the College of Arts and Science, the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, the Graduate School of Arts and Science, Global Liberal Studies, the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, and the Tisch School of the Arts as well as NYU’s Abu Dhabi Campus.

Fulbright scholars included faculty from Liberal Studies, the School of Medicine, the Tisch School of the Arts, and the Wagner Graduate School of Public Service as well as the NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU Shanghai campuses.

Their study and research took these students and scholars to more than a dozen countries, including Russia, Germany, Israel, Spain, Cambodia, Brazil, and India.
