Current Project Update

December 11, 2023

  • The Greene Street Playgarden is scheduled to be reopen the week of  December 18, 2023.

Scope of Work

  • A drop schedule for the rigging is posted in the lobby and updated regularly to provide a two-week lookahead as to where work will be performed.
  • As in most Local Law 11 cases, work will be performed by contractors using swing scaffold to lower themselves down the side of the building.
  • Facade repairs will require the occasional grinding and removal of mortar and masonry. This work is done with small hand tools and will create some noise. A minimal amount of dust will be generated in the area immediately surrounding the work.
  • If any asbestos containing material, or ACM, is detected in the mastic that lies behind the brick facade, contractors will implement safe abatement protocols to securely dispose of it.
  • Per the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) sidewalk bridging will be installed around the perimeter of the building for pedestrian safety.
  • Per the DOB, the Oak Grove will be closed when work is underway on the west and north sides of 100 Bleecker Street. This work is scheduled for spring and summer 2023.
  • Per the DOB a portion of the Greene Street Walk will be closed when work is underway on the east and south sides of 100 Bleecker Street. This work is scheduled for summer and fall of 2023.
  • Per the DOB, the Greene Street Playgarden will be closed when work is underway on the south side of 100 Bleecker Street. This work is scheduled for fall 2023.
