The theme for the 8th annual New York University and VillageCare Take Charge of Your Health Today! Community Health Forum and Expo is "Your Pain Matters - Understanding and Speaking About Chronic Pain." The event will kick off at 11:00 am with a health care expo at which participants can be tested for blood pressure and blood glucose, receive an oral health screening, learn hands-on CPR, and receive important information about a variety of topics that matter to older adults and the people who care for them. 

After the expo, a panel of distinguished professionals will address important wellness issuess, focusing on understanding and treating chronic pain to improve your quality of life. Dr. Max Gomez, the CBS Emmy award-winning TV medical reporter, will moderate. Guests will need to RSVP for this event by filling out the online RSVP form or by calling 212-992-7323.

Beginning at noon, Dr. Max Gomez will moderate a panel of distinguished professionals, who will each provide a presentation on a variety of topics. Some key issues to be addressed are:

  • Finding out how to treat chronic pain so that you can improve your quality of life
  • Learning about new medical and integrative choices that help you manage pain and enhance your mobility
  • Recognizing how pain affects your mood and what you can do about it
