Meet an NYUAA Volunteer: Erica Pedruzzi (LAW '95)
May 24, 2019
The NYU Alumni Association (NYUAA) represents all NYU alumni, from every NYU school and department—a community more than half-a-million strong. The diverse and active NYUAA is fueled by a dedicated group of alumni volunteers who steer the Association in their mission to engage and support alumni. As on-the-ground ambassadors, alumni volunteers dedicate their time and talent to reach and connect NYU alumni across the globe. Erica Pedruzzi (LAW '95) is president of the NYU Alumni Club in Argentina where she organizes regular events to connect fellow alumni around Buenos Aires and beyond.
As leader of the NYU Alumni Club in Argentina, Erica understands the importance of forming a community abroad. A graduate of NYU School of Law, where she focused her studies on finance and securities law, Erica served as graduate editor for the New York University Journal of International Law and Politics. Educated in both Argentina and the US, her unique global perspective has allowed her to develop an extensive international practice while her passion for philanthropy has inspired meaningful involvement with nonprofit organizations.
Today, Erica serves as Director of the Center for Anti-corruption Studies at University of San Andrés in Buenos Aires. Her enthusiasm for leadership and equality is reflected in her current role as an Advisory Board Member for Global Female Leaders as well as her previous work as President of Diagonal, an NGO devoted to ensuring equal access to labor markets for adults over the age of 45 years.
From the Big Apple to the beautiful city of Buenos Aires, Erica’s commitment to the NYU Alumni Club in Argentina is a way for her to stay connected to the energy and activity that blossoms from NYU, as well as an opportunity to network with those who share a common experience.

What is your favorite memory from your time at NYU?
It’s hard to choose just one, everything was wonderful. If I have to name one: Commencement Day.
Why do you stay involved with NYU?
I stay involved because I strongly believe that having the privilege of studying at NYU has changed my life in many ways, and I want to stay connected with the energy that constantly flows from our alma mater. Also, I stay involved out of gratitude, as a way of giving back to NYU at least a small portion of everything that I received during my time at NYU.
Why would you encourage other alumni to be involved with the Alumni Club in Argentina?
As members of the NYU community, we all share common memories and it is very rewarding to have the chance to interact with those who have had similar experiences. Also, it is a great and enjoyable way to network.
