Remembering the Incredible Life of Ruth Gruber (WSC '30)

Ruth Gruber

Ruth Gruber (WSC '30), a highly-respected journalist and humanitarian who accompanied 1,000 Jews to the United States during the Holocaust, has died at 105. She graduated from New York University at 18, was the youngest person in the world to earn their PhD at age 20, and last year was awarded the 2015 Eugene J. Keogh Award for Distinguished Public Service for her contributions to several of the most defining moments of the 20th Century. John Logan Pierson (TSOA '10) Executive Produces "Patriots Day"

John Logan Pierson (TSOA ’10) is Executive Producer of the upcoming film Patriots Day, due out on January 13, 2017. The film follows the response to the Boston Marathon bombings and examines how an act of hate meant to split a community apart instead brought it together in courage, love, and unity. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, Rachel Brosnahan (TSOA ’12), and J.K. Simmons.
