Last month we shared that Michael A. Lindsey has been named dean of NYU’s Silver School of Social Work, effective July 1, 2022. Joining Lindsey later this year will be new leadership at several other NYU schools, with recent announcements about the College of Arts and Science, School of Global Public Health, and Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Wendy Suzuki Appointed Seryl Kushner Dean of NYU’s College of Arts & Science

Wendy Suzuki, a professor of neural science and psychology at New York University, has been named Seryl Kushner Dean of NYU’s College of Arts & Science (CAS). Suzuki, an internationally renowned expert in mental health and brain plasticity, or the ability of the brain to modify its connections in response to the environment, assumes her new leadership post on September 1, 2022.

Debra Furr-Holden Named Dean of NYU's School of Global Public Health

Dean Debra Furr-Holden

C. Debra M. Furr-Holden has been announced as dean of the University’s School of Global Public Health, effective July 1, 2022. An epidemiologist and public health professional with expertise in health disparities and health equity research, policy and practice, drug and alcohol dependence epidemiology, psychiatric epidemiology, and prevention science, Professor Furr-Holden comes to NYU from Michigan State University, where she is the C.S. Mott Endowed Professor of Public Health, associate dean for Public Health Integration, and the director of the NIH-funded Flint Center for Health Equity Solutions at MSU’s College of Human Medicine.

Victoria Rosner Named Dean of NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study

Victoria Rosner was announced as the dean of the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Rosner—whose scholarship focuses primarily on literary modernism seen from an interdisciplinary perspective, and whose books illuminate the complex ways in which literature shares a conceptual lexicon with architecture, design, science, and technology—will take up her new post on July 15, 2022. She joins NYU from Columbia University’s School of General Studies, where she has been serving as the dean of Academic Affairs.
