Paul Viskanta (GSAS ’93) defended his dissertation titled “Teachers Who Collaborate with a Professional Writing Organization: The Importance of Critical Stance” and received his Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in December 2021 from University of Denver in Colorado. Dr. Viskanta’s focus is on supporting the teaching of writing in secondary schools.

Analia Veitz-Keenan (DEN ’99) was installed as the President-Elect at the NYS Academy of General Dentistry.
Reena (Gold) Kamins (STEINHARDT ’03) recently launched the Ark of Dreams Foundation, a non-profit with the mission of providing scholarships for students who have lost a parent before college. She has been in the higher education space for two decades as an admissions professional and independent educational consultant. Just before the pandemic, she also launched College, Career & Laugh to bring some levity to the stress of the process.
Rachel Rae Vassar (GAL ’06) joins the 2022-23 Longwood Gardens Fellows program from the Landscapes and Gardens team at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), where she manages the design and construction of parks, playgrounds, and green stormwater infrastructure.

Emine Kasapoglu (SPS ’13) started a new role as Manager, Procurement Content Creation with Johnson & Johnson at the company's New Brunswick, NJ headquarters.
Sam Sandak Freiberger (TSOA ’13) had his television show “Sonic Boom” released on Steelbook Blu Ray. Sam wrote seven episodes and edited all 104. One of his episodes, “Eggman the Auteur” was screened at numerous film festivals throughout the world including Cannes.
Valerie Wong (STERN ’14) will have three of her poems (all in due time, breathe, ripeness) shared with every S'MAC order in March/April 2022. Another poem (every monsoon exhausts itself eventually) will be featured in Processing Crisis, a multi-genre anthology to be published in Spring 2022.
Kamran Saliani (TSOA ’16) has started a thriving theater company in his hometown of Irvington, NY called The Irvington Shakespeare Company. He got exclusive, special permission from Sir Ian McKellen to revive an old play of his. The connection came from an old director of his from NYU Stella Adler.
