Follow these important steps to activate your student account at NYU.
Your NetID is shared with you via email during your admission process. Go to the NYU Start Page and follow the instructions to activate your netID and set a password. You can use your netID and password to log into:
You must accept or decline your admission offer after receiving your admission letter. If you accept your offer, it will take 24 hours for your student status at NYU to activate. Once you are an active student, you can activate your NYU email and register for class.
Log into NYU Albert
Select “Applicants” tab
Select “Application Status”
Click “Application Decision” button and accept or decline your offer
You will not be able to activate your NYU email account until 24 hours after you accept your admission offer. To activate your email:
Once your NYU email is active, you can access your account via NYUHome or email.nyu.edu. It is NYU policy that communications are sent via NYU email, so check your account often so you do not miss information.
International students are required to study at NYU under an F-1 or J-1 visa. You cannot participate in NYU Precollege under a tourist visa. International students receive information about the visa application process after they are admitted to the program.
