Next Steps After Admissions
Active Your Student Account
Follow these important steps to activate your student account at NYU.
1. Activate Your NetID and NYU Home Accounts
Your NetID is shared with you via email during your admission process. Go to the NYU Start Page and follow the instructions to activate your netID and set a password. You can use your netID and password to log into:
2. Accept or Decline Your Admissions Offer
You must accept or decline your admission offer after receiving your admission letter. If you accept your offer, it will take 24 hours for your student status at NYU to activate. Once you are an active student, you can activate your NYU email and register for class.
- Log into NYU Albert
- Select “Applicants” tab
- Select “Application Status”
- Click “Application Decision” button and accept or decline your offer
3. Submit Your Program Deposit
A $250 non-refundable deposit is required upon accepting your admission to the program in order for you to participate and enroll. If you have difficulty submitting your deposit payment when accepting your admission offer, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
4. Log into Your NYU Email
Your NYU email account will activate 24 hours after you accept your admission offer.
You can access your account via NYUHome or email.nyu.edu. Your login is your netID and netID password. It is NYU policy that communications are sent via NYU email, so check your account often so you do not miss information.
5. Apply for Your Student Visa (Summer International Students)
International students coming to campus in person in summer are required to study at NYU under an F-1 or J-1 visa. You cannot participate in NYU Precollege under a tourist visa. International students receive information about the visa application process after they are admitted to the program. Contact the NYU Office of Global Services at email@example.com or 212-998-4720 with questions about the visa process.
