Next Steps After Admissions

Your NetID is shared with you via email during your admission process. Go to the NYU Start Page and follow the instructions to activate your netID and set a password.  You can use your netID and password to log into:

• NYUHome—NYU’s web portal with links to academic and university life services.
• NYU Albert—NYU’s student records, registration, and account system.

You must accept or decline your admission offer after receiving your admission letter.  If you accept your offer, it will take 24 hours for your student status at NYU to activate.  Once you are an active student, you can activate your NYU email and register for class.

• Log into NYU Albert
• Select “Applicants” tab
• Select “Application Status”
• Click “Application Decision” button and accept or decline your offer

A $250 non-refundable deposit is required upon accepting your admission to the program in order for you to participate and enroll. If you have difficulty submitting your deposit payment when accepting your admission offer, please contact university.programs@nyu.edu.

Your NYU email account will activate 24 hours after you accept your admission offer. 

You can access your account via NYUHome or email.nyu.edu. Your login is your netID and netID password. It is NYU policy that communications are sent via NYU email, so check your account often so you do not miss information.

International students coming to campus in person in summer are required to study at NYU under an F-1 or J-1 visa.  You cannot participate in NYU Precollege under a tourist visa.
