New York University is working in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Education in order to better inform students of their rights and responsibilities when borrowing Federal Student Loans. As part of this initiative, NYU will require half of student borrowers to participate in a pilot study that involves mandatory completion of an online educational module developed to help student borrowers discern how to manage their loans efficiently and effectively. You have been selected to be in this pilot study group and we trust you will benefit from the prescribed additional information.

Required Action

In order to allow your Federal Student Loans to disburse for the academic year, you will need to complete an online learning module related to student borrowing and repayment. To learn where to log in and access your module, please check your NYU Albert Student Center To Do List. The information within the module should be helpful to you as you consider loans and financing. Please note, while you will not be required to pass the built-in questions in the module, you will be required to complete it before your Federal Student Loans can be disbursed. It is important that you complete the module several days prior your scheduled disbursement date (10 days prior to your first semester) in order to receive your loan funds in a timely manner.

Thank you in advance for your participation.

Sincerely,
Lynn Higinbotham
