Designed for upper-level undergraduate students planning for careers in the entertainment and media industries, NYU Los Angeles provides an experiential learning environment in one of the world’s leading centers for the creative industries, including film and television, music, and emerging media. Students take classes in an academic facility located near Park La Brea. Crafted by faculty from various NYU schools, the program combines highly focused academic programming with a substantial professional development component.

Academics
Students must register for a minimum of 4 credits.
NYU Los Angeles offers a focused, interdisciplinary program sponsored by multiple schools. Students should plan to take courses across multiple schools and departments, including the required Experiential Learning Seminar.
All students in the NYU Los Angeles program complete an internship or equivalent professional development experience in the entertainment and media industries. The site team will help you identify opportunities, refine your resume and presentation, and provide advice and support to help you nail interviews and land an internship that advances your career interests and sets you up for future success.
The NYU Los Angeles faculty is comprised of local professionals and scholars who bring decades of experience from the entertainment and media industries into the classroom. Small class sizes allow students to receive individualized attention and provide an ideal setting for fostering collaboration.
Housing and Meals
All students participating in the program are required to live in NYU-provided housing. The Park La Brea complex offers university housing for students who are spending a traditional “study away” semester at NYU LA. These are apartment-style accommodations with two bedrooms, a shared kitchen, bath, and living/dining area. Park La Brea has abundant outdoor areas with private patios and communal green space within the gated community.
Park La Brea is centrally located, walking distance to the NYULA Academic Center, the Original Farmers Market, The Grove, and many grocery stores and restaurants.
