Program Summary

Buenos Aires is a window into Latin American culture and the geopolitics of the global south as well as the cosmopolitan hub of Argentina. Beginner to Advanced level Spanish courses are available, making NYU Buenos Aires ideal for any student who wants to fast track their Spanish language skills. Courses are also availanle in Media, Culture, and Communication, Politics, and Core.

Academics

Students must register for a minimum of 4 credits.

At NYU Buenos Aires, students have the incomparable opportunity to experience the culture of Argentina firsthand. The curriculum offers Spanish language courses and content courses that explore the history, culture, and economy of Latin America. NYU's administrative staff and faculty in Buenos Aires will help you find your way around the city, as well as serve as your academic advisers. In a city as politically and artistically stimulating as Buenos Aires, you are bound to have a lively and enriching academic experience.

Summer Language Intensive

The NYU Buenos Aires Summer Language Intensive is an immersive experience in Spanish language which will be an unforgettable encounter with the people, culture and lifestyle of this energetic South American nation. In additon to engaing with Argentine culture, students make progress toward their academic goals and fulfil language requirements.

Students in this program register for the 6-credit, Intermediate Spanish course, SPAN UA 9020, which is the equivalent of one year of intermediate Spanish which fulfills the language requirement for NYU's College of Arts and Science.

Housing and Meals

All students participating in the program are required to live in NYU-provided housing.

NYU Buenos Aires summer housing is arranged for students to live in Argentine homes with local hosts.
