All NYU London students are required to live in housing organized or managed by NYU London. During your academic year at NYU London, you will live in the Byron Court residence.
Here are some important details about living in Byron Court:
- There is no meal plan, but you can prepare your own meals in the apartment kitchens or eat out at the numerous restaurants in the nearby neighborhood.
- You will not be able to submit a request for a specific roommate, but all NYU Stern First Year London Students will live together in Byron Court and have many opportunities to interact with each other. Spending your first year in London is a great way to meet new people, expand your interests, broaden your understanding of different regions and cultures, and stretch your comfort zone with all that NYU’s global network has to offer.
- You will keep your same room assignment from the Fall to the Spring, however you will not be able to stay in your room over the winter break since NYU London facilities are closed during this time.
Rooms and Amenities
Byron Court is an apartment-style residence. All apartments contain at least two separate bedrooms, almost all of which are doubles or triples. A typical Byron apartment contains two separate double bedrooms - a total of 4 beds. There are also a number of larger apartments, containing 3 separate bedrooms: a total of 6 – 9 beds. There are shared bathroom facilities with at least one shower (not baths) within each apartment.
The two elevators serve most of the residence, but do not go up to the highest floor (the fourth floor).
The residence has a good amount of communal storage space, and also has communal areas for study and leisure, including a pool table and foosball table, a playstation 3 and a selection of games, and dvds.
There is an on-site office where facilities and Residential Life staff are based. The reception area is staffed by security guards 24 hours a day, and there is usually at least one student RA to support students in the building.
Housing costs for Byron Court vary by room type. Review the NYU London housing rates.
