The following timeline of activities outlines steps through spring 2024 to receive reaffirmation of accreditation.

Fall 2020

August
- Accreditation Liaison Officer forms the Executive Advisory Committee (EAC)

Fall 2021

September
- President and provost appoint co-chairs of self-study
- Co-chairs form Self-Study Leadership Team (SSLT) with accreditation manager
- SSLT appoints Evidence Inventory Officer
October
- Institutional leadership defines institutional priorities
November
- *SSLT attends MSCHE Self-Study Institute (Official MSCHE self-study milestone)
- Co-chairs meet with leadership bodies: Senior Leadership Team; Senate Executive Committee
December
- Co-chairs meet with the Board of Trustees' Academic Affairs Committee

Spring 2022

January - February
- Begin drafting self-study design
- SSLT completes Self-Study Institute activities
March
- Finalize lines of inquiry
April
- *Remote meeting with VP liaison (Official MSCHE self-study milestone)
- Co-Chairs draft self-study design
May
- Appoint Steering Committee
- Complete first draft self-study design document
- Begin to populate Evidence Inventory

Summer 2022

June
- Conduct first Steering Committee meeting
- *Co-chairs submit self-study design draft to MSCHE VP liaison (June 1st) (Official MSCHE self-study milestone)
- *Host liaison self-study preparation visit (June 15th & 16th) (Official MSCHE self-study milestone)
- Begin to appoint working group members
July - August
- *Edit self-study design & confirm MSCHE approval (Official MSCHE self-study milestone)
- Complete working group member appointments
- Gather initial documents and data for working groups and continue to populate Evidence Inventory
- Finalize working group charge and reporting template instructions

Fall 2022

September - December
- Launch self-study website
- President sends formal University-wide communication announcing self-study (September 12, 2022)
- Working groups convene, receive charge and commence work
- Chairs update Steering Committee Monthly

Spring 2023

January
- *Co-chairs work with MSCHE VP liaison to select team chair (Official MSCHE self-study milestone)
February - April
- Working groups submit 1st draft report to Steering Committee using report template (March 15)
- Steering Committee provides feedback to working groups (April 1)
- Working groups submit final working group reports to the Steering Committee (April 30)
- University constituent group updates
May
- Write first draft narrative report
- Evidence Inventory updated

Summer 2023

June - August
- Steering Committee, President, Provost, General Counsel and other selected reviewers, review self-study draft report
- Self-Study Leadership Team edits self-study
- Draft report copyediting

Fall 2023

September - October
- Self-study website refreshed with draft self-study report
- Self-Study co-chairs invites the University community to review self-study narrative report (September 25, 2023)
- University senior leadership and constituent group update
- Share draft narrative report with team chair
November
- *Host team chair visit (Official MSCHE self-study milestone)
- Final edits incorporated following team chair visit
December
- *Submit final self-study report, evidence inventory, and verification of compliance with federal regulations report to MSCHE portal, six weeks prior to the evaluation team visit (Official MSCHE self-study milestone)
- Self-study narrative report uploaded to NYU site and broadly disseminated as "FINAL" to community

Spring 2024

January - February
- Site visits to 4 NYU additional locations
- Self-study leadership team, and University Events prepare for March evaluation team site visit
March
- *Host evaluation team visit March 3-6 (Official MSCHE self-study milestone)
April
- Evaluation team submits report to MSCHE
- *NYU responds to evaluation team report
