NYU in Brooklyn
By providing the resources that facilitate the fusion of science, technology, and the creative arts—a signature feature of both NYU and Brooklyn’s burgeoning tech sector—NYU’s Brooklyn campus is preparing students to drive the innovation and entrepreneurship jobs of tomorrow. By working with emerging technologies, and combining disciplines to address the world’s greatest challenges, our students, researchers, and world-class faculty are creating new fields of study, driving the economy of tomorrow, and enhancing the human experience.
NYU’s growing presence in Brooklyn nurtures the intersection of technology and emerging media by providing ever-expanding spaces where engineers and artists work side by side. Collaboration among the Center for Urban Science and Progress and the faculty and students from the Tandon School of Engineering and the Tisch School of the Arts, nurture an environment that opens up unique and interesting research. Facilities that encourage this collaboration at NYU’s new 370 Jay Street building include media commons, audio labs, mo-cap labs, virtual reality rooms, black boxes, recording studios, maker spaces as well as performance opportunities, and an exhibition hall—all placed together to deliberately accelerate innovation. And with additional opportunities at our global campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai, in addition to our 11 study abroad locations, the possibilities are endless.
