Alumni Magazine Issue 33 cover

Our cover story “The Future of Science at NYU” highlights NYU’s ambitious visions in the fields bioengineering, chemical biology, quantum phenomena, and supercomputing. Each field offers an opportunity to leverage—and then merge—existing institutional strengths, with the promise that the whole will be more than the sum of its parts.

Cover and feature illustrations by Philiplueck
Working under the nom de plume philiplueck, Philip Lück is a 3-D digital artist based in Trier, Germany. He creates abstract art with a hint of realism, using the most cutting-edge software, including Maxon Cinema 4D, Adobe’s Photoshop and Illustrator, and OctaneRender. Since much about these interdisciplinary subjects involves items that are difficult (if not impossible!) to photograph, we shared our story with Lück and asked him to provide an imaginative interpretation of each next-level scientific field.
