On the Cover

Alumni Magazine Issue 39's cover features a black and white concept illustration of a Manhattan Airport, elevated above the city streets

A New New York
Our cover features a concept image of a Manhattan Airport unveiled in 1945. See the entire illustration and read more about the otherwise very successful man behind this failed project, William Zeckendorf Sr., and find out what inspired our feature story.

NYC Reimagined
It’s important to acknowledge that sometimes the quixotic precedes the possible and even the practical. An 843-acre park in the middle of the island, a bridge connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn, subterranean tubes for trains, and a 102-story skyscraper. All of these were once unthinkable, yet today they help to make the Big Apple the best place to live, work, and study.
In our feature, NYC Reimagined, we asked some of this university’s outside-the-box thinkers to tap their inner Zeckendorf and share their most audacious visions for the future of New York City.
