New York University will host Nina Domingo, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Minnesota, for a webinar on the U.S. agriculture industry’s impact on air quality on Thurs., Nov. 18, 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. EST.
Recent research into the environmental impacts of the food system has focused on land, energy, water use, and water quality, but less is known about how food production affects air quality. However, agriculture is a well-known, major contributor to air pollution. Reduced air quality is the largest environmental risk to premature mortality, both in the United States and globally.
In this webinar, Domingo will discuss her research examining the air quality-related health impacts of U.S. agriculture as well as producer- and consumer-side solutions that can improve health outcomes.
“The findings of this work can inform decisions of food producers, processors and distributors, policymakers, and the broader public interested in improving the health and environmental outcomes of the food we eat,” explains Domingo.
