"NYU is appalled by the swastikas and other hateful graffiti with which the outside of two of its buildings have been vandalized on two occasions, most recently in the first week of February.
"We alerted law enforcement on each occasion and shared with them footage from our security cameras. We support the authorities' efforts to apprehend the person who committed these vile acts, and appreciate their focus on this matter.
"The swastika is a despicable symbol of hatred, bigotry, terror, and oppression; its meaning -- as well as that depicted in the other hate graffiti -- is completely at odds with our campus' values. We urge anyone with knowledge of who might have done this to come forward promptly."
