"The claim that NYU wrote to the parents of its striking graduate employees is a lie.
"NYU sent an email to its regular parents email list notifying them about the strike, as it routinely does with any major development on campus. That mailing list is principally composed of undergraduate parents. No info on the parents of graduate or professional students is added to the list by NYU; any parents of graduate students who happen to be on the list are there because they chose to opt on to the list, or perhaps have a child who was previously an undergraduate at NYU.
"The claim that NYU targeted the parents of striking grad employees—or the parents of other graduate students—is false, as is the claim that the email asked them in any way to intervene in the strike."
