NYU Statement Regarding Police Activity Near Brooklyn Campus

The University is aware of the report of shots being fired in the vicinity of 6 Metrotech, and we are following developments closely.  We are thankful there were no injuries to members of the NYU community, and we are grateful for law enforcement's swift response. We do not believe there is an ongoing threat to members of the NYU Tandon community. The police—who have at least one suspect in custody, with another at large—are continuing their investigation. If anyone has information about the shooting, we urge them to come forward and assist the NYPD by calling (800) 577-TIPS.
