All events are held at Deutsches Haus at NYU, located at 42 Washington Mews (between University Place and Fifth Avenue). They are free, open to the public, and in English, unless otherwise noted. How We Live: The Future of Urbanity, Affordability, and Mobility in the Modern Metropolis

The future of urban living raises myriad questions, which a conversation with Christina Horsten and Felix Zeltner—authors of “Stadtnomaden"—NYU assistant professor Sophie Gonick, urban anthropologist Libertad O. Guerra, and Untapped Cities founder Michelle Young will address. The researchers and scholars will touch on what life in New York and Berlin will be like in the future, including the looming questions of affordability, gentrification, and neighborhood revitalization. Presented by Deutsches Haus at NYU and NYU’s Urban Democracy Lab. Sponsored by the DAAD.

"Digital Warriors:" Women's Activism in a Global Context

Deutsches Haus at NYU and the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in New York present a screening of the DW documentary "Digital Warriors: Women Changing the World." A conversation among the activists Masih Alinejad and Aissata Camara—moderated by Radha Hegde, professor of media, culture, and communication at NYU—will follow. The participants will focus on the evolution of activists' roles in the digital and globalized world, and the power and limitations of social media to mobilize support and create lasting change for a wide range of causes.
