The exhibition will feature 53 artists comprising of faculty, staff, and alumni--June 10, 2019 to Jan 3, 2020
The Department of Photography & Imaging at NYU Tisch School of the Arts presents New Works from the DPI Faculty and Alumni, a survey of recent lens-based work from alumni, faculty, and staff. On view are works from former students from the 1980’s through the 2000’s showcasing a broad spectrum of approaches to the medium, ranging between large-scale cyanotypes, 3D-printed sculptures, digital video and traditional still photographic prints. The work, which also includes pieces from current and emeritus faculty and department staff, encompasses the varied nature of contemporary photographic practice. Intimate portraits, constructed tableaux, documentary works, formalist and abstract images share the walls of the department’s 8th floor gallery space in an exhibition that is as varied as the 53 artists whose work comprises the show.
