Statement from NYU Spokesman John Beckman
"The University is pleased with a federal court's ruling against the most recent attempt by the Schlichter firm and their clients to overturn their loss in their suit against NYU.
"The record is abundantly clear: After a thorough trial and on the facts, the court ruled against the Schlichter firm's claims regarding the management of NYU's retirement plans. And now the court has ruled against their spurious claim of a conflict involving the trial judge, which involved introducing issues never raised at the trial.
"The Schlicter firm has brought similar cases against numerous universities, and has yet to prevail in court. Notwithstanding their appeal to Second Circuit in the case involving NYU, given the record, we hope, in the interests of justice and fairness, this costly and unnecessary litigation will come to an end soon."
