Empire State Building Bathed in NYU Colors in Tribute to Grads
WHAT: Thousands will attend NYU’s annual pre-Commencement “Grad Alley” event near its Washington Square campus -- featuring food, musical acts, and performances -- in celebration of the graduates of 2016 and their loved ones.
And, as a special NYC tribute to NYU’s grads, as twilight falls the Empire State Building will be lit in violet, the school’s color.
WHERE: West 3rd Street between Thompson and Mercer Streets; LaGuardia Place Between WSQ South and W. 3rd Street
WHEN: Street closures on West 3rd Street and La Guardia Place will start mid-morning today, Tuesday, May 17, 2016. The Grad Alley event will run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Streets will re-open at approximately 9:00 pm.
