Join NYU Law Leadership Mindset and the NYU Forum on Law, Culture & Society on Monday, January 11 for “Leadership, Love and the Law,” a conversation with three industry leaders—Union Square Hospitality Group CEO Danny Meyer, long-time Broadway producer and former NEA chairman Rocco Landesman, and Jujamcyn Theaters president Jordan Roth—about the key attributes that make an exceptional leader in any field.
Lawyers are often tasked with leading individuals, businesses, and even governments, through challenging issues involving complex legal and ethical questions. But beyond taking charge and offering guidance, what makes someone a successful long-term leader? And why is it important that lawyers, and law students, hone these qualities as they step into the role of counseling people during some of the most difficult, or most triumphant, moments they may face?
Join NYU Law Leadership Mindset and the NYU Forum on Law, Culture & Society (FOLCS) on Monday, January 11, from 12pm to 2pm, for “Leadership, Love and the Law,” a conversation with three industry leaders—Union Square Hospitality Group CEO Danny Meyer, long-time Broadway producer and former NEA chairman Rocco Landesman, and Jujamcyn Theaters president Jordan Roth—about the key attributes that make an exceptional leader in any field.
The Leadership Mindset is a signature experience at NYU School of Law. It is the law school’s mission to inspire and develop a lifelong practice of ethical and inclusive leadership, an ethos that has long been a key part of our institutional culture. Recognizing the constant evolution of leadership, we provide promising students with the tools needed to succeed through intensive training and exposure to its many forms and facets.
Throughout the year, distinguished leaders from legal and related fields participate in the Leadership Mindset Series, open to students, alumni, and friends of the Law School. Variously hosted in different Law School fora to infuse the broader intellectual life of the community, these talks and conversations include discussion of leadership qualities from the perspective of luminaries who have exhibited them in reaching their goals.
FOLCS is an ideas-driven cultural organization that examines the big ideas of our day, including matters of law, justice, human rights and civil society, by bringing together influential artists, government leaders and public intellectuals in a setting that is spirited, enriching and alive.
The event takes place at Greenberg Lounge at NYU School of Law, 40 Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012. A reception catered by Union Square Hospitality Group will follow. Tickets are free for NYU Law students and faculty, $10 for students and seniors, $25 for NYU Law alumni, and $30 for the public.
