Robots, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence are on the agenda at an upcoming conference on how technology can be used for prevention, assessment, and management of health.
NYU HealthTech 2016: Apps, Gadgets, and Gizmos will take place Saturday, May 7 from 8 am – 4 pm at NYU Steinhardt’s Pless Hall (82 Washington Square East, 1st Floor).

Through panel discussions, presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences, attendees will develop an understanding of the advantages, limitations, and ethical considerations of using technology in health.

Topics of discussion include:

  • Home automation for individuals with disabilities
  • Technical innovations for hearing loss
  • 3-D printing in health care
  • Humanoid robots used for autism therapy
  • Using virtual reality to assess balance
  • High tech prosthetics
  • E-cigarette use
  • How to evaluate health apps
  • Innovative apps for speech disorders, weight loss, and rating the accessibility of locations worldwide
