NYU will host President Horacio Cartes of Paraguay for a public address, “Introducing Paraguay: A Land of Opportunity,” on Tues., Sept. 29, 10 to 11 a.m. at the School of Law.

New York University will host President Horacio Cartes of Paraguay for a public address, “Introducing Paraguay: A Land of Opportunity,” on Tues., Sept. 29, 10 to 11 a.m. at NYU’s School of Law, D’Agostino Hall (108 West Third Street [betw. Sullivan and MacDougal Streets]).

President Cartes entered the business world in the mid-1970s, eventually forming the Cartes Business Group, and was president and CEO of Libertad Football Club. His involvement in public service began in 2010, when he helped to establish a political movement within the existing Colorado Party. He was elected president of the Republic of Paraguay in 2013.
