The five-boro awareness campaign kicks-off at PS 254 in Richmond Hill, Queens, providing complimentary oral screenings to the students

New York University College of Dentistry’s (NYUCD) Mobile Dental Care Program is proud to announce the launch of the "Give Kids A Smile" initiative spearheaded by NYC Public Advocate Letitia James. Public Advocate James will identify a public school in each borough where the Mobile Dental Care Program will provide complimentary oral screenings to students.

The kick-off will occur at PS 254, on Thursday, February 12, 2015, from 9am to 3pm, located at 84-40 101st Street, Richmond Hill, NY 11418.

Future screening dates will be announced for the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.

A major component of the NYU College of Dentistry mission is extensive community outreach. The College's mobile dental care van, Smiling Faces, Going Places, is a unique program that brings comprehensive dental care to underserved children in New York City at public schools and Head Start facilities. Faculty from many departments lead NYU dental, dental hygiene and postdoctoral students in a wide range of patient care initiatives, traveling throughout the five boroughs of New York City to provide care to underserved populations.
