From the tinder robot to the texting hoodie, before they were a thing, they were an idea at ITP. Catch the next wave of art-meets-tech innovation at the ITP Winter Show, December 20-21.

From the tinder robot to the texting hoodie, before they were big ideas they were student projects at the now-legendary semi-annual student show of the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP). On Sunday, December 20 and Monday, December 21, ITP will showcase more than 100 student projects, giving the public a free peak at the latest innovations fostered by this world-renown digital convergence program.

A two-year graduate program within in the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, ITP is designed to explore the imaginative use of communications technologies and how they might augment, improve, and inspire. Since the program was established in 1979, ITP graduates have gone on to develop internationally renowned products, companies and works of art. ITP alumni include Dennis Crowley, CEO of Foursquare, who developed his Dodgeball application while at ITP; Tom Igoe, a chief architect of the Arduino microcontroller; and LED visual artist Leo Villarreal.

The winter exhibition will be held at the NYU Tisch Building at 721 Broadway, 4th Floor South, New York, NY 10003, on Sunday, December 20 from 2-6 p.m. and Monday, December 21 from 4-8 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
