Stephen Wangh, author of “The Heart of Teaching” (2013), speaks to experienced teachers and beginning teachers in all disciplines, but is particularly relevant to those in the performing arts, from which most of its examples are drawn. It brings essential insight and honesty to the discussion of how to teach. A playwright, director and acting teacher, Wangh has taught at New York University, Naropa University, and Emerson College.

Scott Korb, author of “Light Without Fire: The Making of America's First Muslim College” (2013). Previous publications include “Life in Year One: What the World Was Like in First-Century Palestine” and “The Faith between Us,” a co-authored work. Poetry Reading with Frederick Feirstein and David Yezzi
Frederick Feirstein, author of “Dark Energy” (2013), has been a Guggenheim Fellow and Pulitzer Prize finalist in poetry. A dozen of his plays have been produced in New York and other cities. He is a member of the Playwright/Directors Unit at Actors Studio. David Yezzi is a poet and actor and serves as the executive editor of The New Criterion. His books include “The Birds of the Air” (2013), “Azores” (2008), and “The Hidden Model” (2003). His poems have appeared in the Atlantic, the Paris Review, the New Republic, and elsewhere.

Self Publishing with Helen Iranyi and Jeremy Slusarz
Get the scoop on how an author and a photographer explored the amazing new Espresso Book Machine technology at the NYU Bookstore. After working for 45 years in publishing, Helen Iranyi has edited “Royal Threads”, a memoir by her mother, Judith (1905-1986). “Royal Threads” is a raw saga of historical significance about how she survived World War I and the Russian Revolution as a child. Wishing to further explore the machine's capabilities, NYU Bookstore trade book supervisor Jeremy Slusarz set about designing a photography book expressly for the Espresso Book Machine. The resulting work, “Istanbul” documents two weeks in the life of the ancient city in the fall of 2010.
