Clinical associate professor Donna Quadri-Felitti, of the Tisch Center for Tourism, Hospitality, and Sports Management in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, presented the results of her study of Lake Erie wine tourism at two workshops last July for the small business communities of Chautauqua County, NY, and Erie County, PA.
Quadri-Felitti’s research yielded findings on the demographics of the typical Lake Erie Wine Country visitor. The results indicate a consistency in the wine tourist profile across the world’s wine regions. Quadri-Felitti used the workshops to discuss those findings with local businesses, advising them how to leverage the information to attract tourists to the region and how to enhance their consumers’ experiences.
The research was partially funded by a $15,000 grant from the North East Sustainable Agriculture & Education research unit of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
