The NYU Bookstore will host events in May that include readings by John Strausbaugh (May 1) and Joyce Apsel (May 8) as well as a poetry reading and more at the Bookstore’s 726 Broadway location (between Astor Place and Washington Place). All events are free and open to the public.

John Strausbaugh, author of “The Village: 400 Hundred Years of Beats and Bohemians, Radicals and Rogues: A History of Greenwich Village”

John Strausbaugh covered downtown Manhattan history and culture as a writer and editor of New York Press. He has also worked for the New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, and PBS.

Joyce Apsel is a faculty member in the Liberal Studies Program at NYU. She serves as president of the Institute for the Study of Genocide and director of RightsWorks International, a human rights and genocide educational initiative.
