In February, Susan Neuman, NYU Steinhardt professor of teaching and learning and author of “Give Children a Fighting Chance,” moderated the panel discussion focusing on how Common Core Standards will be evaluated -- among students, teachers, and schools -- and the challenges that will be faced. The first installment featured John B. King, Jr., New York State Education Commissioner, and Shael Polakow-Suransky, senior deputy chancellor at the New York City Department of Education, and covered current implementation of the curriculum.
