In addition to her acclaimed work as a musician, Rösinger is a novelist.
The German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau has called her the “most important living German singer-songwriter.” This Thursday, September 13, Christiane Rösinger will perform a free concert in thegarden of the Deutsches Haus at New York University, beginning at 7 p.m.
Christiane Rösinger was the founder, singer and lyricist of the Berlin band Lassie Singers and Britta. In the 90’s she was one of the organizers of the legendary Flittchenbar near the East Berlin train station.
In addition to her work as a musician, she writes columns and other entries for various newspapers and magazines, among them the Tagesspiegel, Berliner Zeitung and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. In 2008 she published her first novel Das schöne Leben (The Beautiful Life). Her first solo album with the title Songs of L. and Hate appeared in 2010.
Deutsches Haus is located at 42 Washington Mews (enter from University Place, just north of Washington Square North). While admission to the concert is free, space is limited.
