The NYU Bookstore has rescheduled two events that were postponed in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy: poet Bhisham Bherwani (originally scheduled for Nov. 12; now scheduled for Nov. 19) and Zadie Smith (originally scheduled for Oct. 30; now scheduled for Dec. 3).
The New York University Bookstore has rescheduled two events that were postponed in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy: poet Bhisham Bherwani (originally scheduled for Nov. 12; now scheduled for Nov. 19) and Zadie Smith (originally scheduled for Oct. 30; now scheduled for Dec. 3).
The event featuring Greta Gleissner, originally scheduled for Nov. 5 and rescheduled for Nov. 27, has been cancelled.
All events, which are free and open to the public, will take place the Bookstore’s 726 Broadway location (between Astor Place and Washington Place). Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Greta Gleissner, author of “Something Spectacular: The True Story of One Rockette’s Battle with Bulimia”
“Something Spectacular” is Greta Gleissner’s personal chronicle of the devastating effects bulimia exacts upon her life during her time as a Rockette. In recovery from bulimia for the last 10 years, Gleissner uses her experience as a platform to help others. The event is co-sponsored by the Silver School of Social Work at NYU.

Zadie Smith, author of “NW”
Zadie Smith's new novel follows four Londoners as they try to make adult lives outside of Caldwell, the council estate of their childhood. From private houses to public parks, at work and at play, their London is a complicated place, as beautiful as it is brutal. Zadie Smith was born in north-west London in 1975. She is the author of “White Teeth”, “The Autograph Man”, “On Beauty”, and the essay collection “Changing My Mind”.
