Diabetes and Your Oral Health: A Special Lecture by Dr. Steven P. Engebretson at NYU College of Dentistry, Sept. 23

New York University College of Dentistry presents a lecture “Diabetes and Your Oral Health” given by  Dr. Steven P. Engebretson, Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, School of Dental Medicine Stony Brook University. 

Growing numbers of scientific studies show that oral infection, and, in particular, periodontal (gum) disease, can contribute to diabetes, and that good oral health is essential in successfully managing this incurable disease.

On Tuesday, September 23, Dr.  Engebretson, an expert in the field of diabetes and oral health, will explain in easy-to-understand language:

·         the signs and symptoms of diabetes,

·         how diabetes and oral disease are a two-way street,

·         the importance of promoting oral health in patients with diabetes.
