The 80WSE Galleries of The Steinhardt School at New York University will show the work of five Doctoral candidates from L’UFR d’arts plastiques et sciences de l’art, Paris I Sorbonne (Faculty of Fine Arts and Art Sciences, Panthéon-Sorbonne University) in an exhibition of approximately 30 works entitled Les Jours Heureux (Happy Days).  The artists, who were selected for a one year exchange with NYU Steinhardt’s Department of Art and Art Professions, are: Pauline Bastard, Karim Charredib, Eleonore Josso, Aude Legrande, and Annick Naour.

Les Jours Heureux will open June 28 and remain on view through July 12, 2011.  The works in the show range from paintings, drawings, and photographs to digital prints, video, and installation-based creations.  The exchange between art students in Paris and New York has been initiated and supported by the Bruni-Sarkozy Foundation.  The project allows young artists to experience global culture first-hand and to create new cultural and artistic initiatives between New York and Paris.

80WSE Galleries is located at 80 Washington Square East (between W. 4th and Washington Place).  Subway: N&R (8th St. Broadway). Gallery hours: Tues-Sat, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The exhibition is free and open to the public.
