New York University’s Master of Public Health (MPH) Program will present New York State Health Commissioner Nirav R. Shah at a breakfast event on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. He will talk about current public health priorities.
This event is open to the media and will take place from 9:00-to-10:30 a.m. at NYU Kimmel Center, Room 912/914 (60 Washington Square South, New York, N.Y.).
Nominated by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and confirmed by the New York State Senate on January 24, 2011, Dr. Shah (MD, MPH) is the 15th New York State health commissioner and the youngest person ever named to the post. In addition, he is the first Indian-American to serve in the position.
Commissioner Shah’s visit to NYU comes during National Public Health Week (Apr. 4-10, 2011), and helps celebrate the launch of the NYU Master of Public Health Network with public health faculty, students, alumni, staff, and University leadership.
