In New York State there are 2.5 million smokers and most these smokers want to quit their deadly addiction. According to the New York State Tobacco Control Program, it is estimated that 75% of smokers want to quit and nearly 60% of current smokers have tried to quit at least once during the last year.
The Great American Smokeout is an opportunity for smokers to quit for one day in hopes that they quit for good.
