In January, Grettel Batoon, ’09 alumna from the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television’s Animation program, began a 12-week production internship at Pixar Animation Studios in California. The filmmaker, whose acceptance was based on her resume, cover letter and interviews, notes that the selection committee was also "impressed with all the skills and software programs that I learned at NYU Animation and my involvement with the Fusion Film Festival."
Batoon described her Pixar experience so far as "amazing" and "hands down the best internship I've ever had.” She goes on to write, “What I love the most about this internship is the working environment. It's just so friendly, trusting, and nurturing. No one wants you to fail.” In the past, Animation alums hired by Pixar include, Alex Woo, Austin Lee, Lou Hamou-Lhadj, and Cortney Armitage.
