The New York University College of Dentistry, in conjunction with the New York County Dental Society and the American Dental Association (ADA), are joining forces on a volunteer initiative to “Give Kids a Smile” by providing free educational, preventive, and restorative services to children, Friday, February 5, 2010. The services are part of a larger nation-wide initiative to raise awareness and access to dental care for all children.

Please note: The ADA and Henry Schein officials will be at the College of Dentistry, Room 4S, on Friday, February 5, from 10-11 am.

The American Dental Association’s eighth annual Give Kids A Smile Day, is a program that has provided free oral health services to millions of underserved children in communities across the country, supported by Henry Schein Cares, the company’s global social responsibility program. This year, more than 50,000 dental professionals, including 13,000 dentists, across the nation will volunteer for this one-day event to provide children from low-income families with oral education materials, screening and treatment.

  • WHAT: Free dental screening for children; Custom-made mouth-guards for children who play sports; Free dental sealants; Children will receive oral health education, get their BMI’s calculated by nutrition interns; all children will receive a cute “NYU Dentistry Teddy Bear Clinic” teddy bear commemorating their visit!
