Despite the nation's ongoing recession, 90 percent of students from the Class of 2009 report that they are either employed (79 percent) or in graduate school, according to an annual survey by NYU's Wasserman Center for Career Development. The survey, which is conducted each fall with those who graduated the previous spring, included more than 1,600 former students.

Other responses revealed that:

  • 78 % of those who obtainedjobs secured them within three months of graduating
  • 38 % received two or more job offers.
  • 49% of respondents participated in a study abroad program while at NYU.
  • 41.5% of those working say they obtained their employment directly throughresources provided by the Wasserman Center.

The mean salary for respondents was $50,900.
